Glandular Fever

The first chronic health issue I remember having was glandular fever at 10years old. Before that Id had extreme allergic reactions that had made my eyelids swell up and blind me for a day or two, but when your father is the local pharmacist, that kind of health issue doesn’t count as a big deal. You just take an antihistamine and wait it out.

Glandular Fever, however, wiped me out for a month, so it was a chronic health issue, but not technically a chronic illness, because it’s something you get sick with and then you recover, and it’s over. However, I didn’t really ‘get over it. The sickness was gone, but I was left in a state of unnatural exhaustion for over a decade. I would be fine, then suddenly I would feel all of my energy drop out through my feet, and I would need to sleep. often falling asleep quite quickly

There was actually one particularly embarrassing moment when my long-term sweetheart had woken me up in the middle of the night and decided to propose. (Far more sweet and romantic than it sounds.) I said no. As I was about to explain that we were too young and that we should wait a year or two, I fell asleep. I awoke 5 hours later and finished the sentence without realising that I had slept in the middle of the conversation. He was such a darling that he found it funny.

At 22, someone suggested the homoeopathic for glandular fever, and like a light coming back on, my energy was restored to normal.

It would be easy to have seen myself as a victim of illness or disabled by this. However, that would be extremely disempowering. So I ask myself, - why did this happen and what did I learn or gain from it?

When I look back at those times, I can see my body resting, but my soul is not close by. So where had it gone? I followed the energy and found my soul, or consciousness, studying with my guardians. In the 12 years of having this experience, I studied an incredible amount of healing and intuitive information. None of which my conscious mind was old enough to cope with. The moment I took the homoeopathic, my mind cleared. I had already started my training as an intuitive and healer, but something shifted up a gear at this point. I was able to remember things that I had been taught during the sleeping time. I was able to understand healing skills faster and deeper than anyone else I was training with. Not because I was smarter, but because for me it was like remembering, rather than learning something new.

Having Glandular Fever had also given me a deeper energetic understanding of my nervous system, my adrenals, my glands, chakras, meridians and all my other energy flow systems. I understood what was connected to what and how I could direct energy through them.

I also knew instinctively how to soul travel, because when I was sleeping, I ‘travelled’ a lot!

I’m not suggesting that I would recommend or choose the experience. However, I find it far preferable to be empowered by what I have learnt from it than to be a victim of it. Once I had recognised the gifts and learning from it, I was able to give gratitude for the journey and finally leave it in the past fully and completely.
